Farmer learns other farmer’s name not Shag after thirty years of friendship

A Torteval farmer has had a ‘nasty surprise’.

After thirty years of friendship, farmer ‘Bud’ De Garis was shocked when neighbouring farmer Jim Queripel innocently revealed his name was was not in fact Shag.

“I just always say ‘ello Shag’ and he’d always say ‘ello Bud’ and we’d start our days there – thirty years in the fields together eh,

“He never corrected me, not once. I’m hurt, truly,

“Now he just tells me he has some fancy French name and I’m supposed to trust him again. It won’t do.”

“That’s one friendship down the shitter.”
