A new job satisfaction survey within the States of Guernsey has yielded some startling results.
41% of States workers surveyed claim that their jobs have become so unbearable they look forward to the brief bliss of drying their hands with hot air after going to the bathroom.
“It’s an escape, it really is, like that first glass of wine after work,” Pam Le Pelley from Tax told us.
“Something about the white noise and the moment of warmth just takes you away from the grind of civil service for a few precious moments,” an anonymous deputy revealed.
The rest of the report indicates that 30% of States workers consider lunchtime the highlight of their day, 23% like checking email and an outlying 6% just enjoy upsetting the poor.
